John 14 reveals God’s nature and our truest identity through Jesus’ tender words: “Let not your hearts be troubled.” Speaking to weary, hurting, and fearful disciples, Jesus points not inward but upward—urging faith in God as the cure for troubled hearts. He shows that God is Father, known through Him, and experienced in community. From this flows our identity: we are beloved children, adopted into God’s family, known through Jesus, and shaped in relationship with others. Living from this identity brings rest to exhaustion, healing to pain, and peace to fear. As God’s children, we can truly heal, rest, and flourish.
